999 British Sign Language (BSL)

January 2023

Did you know there is now an app for people with speech or hearing impairments to help them contact the police?

The service is available 24/7 and can be used to contact Police, Ambulance, Fire or Coastguard.

You can use the 999 BSL app (available on IOS and Android) or their Website to make a call to 999, it will go to a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter first, who will appear on the screen. The BSL interpreter will then call the 999 operators through the landline and will relay the conversation.
